Project Background: Leadership and Organisational Behaviour

leadership and organizational behaviour

This blog post is a group project of the Leadership and Organisational Behaviour class from the 2020/21 Full-time MBA in Innovation & Entrepreneurship programme at EGADE Business School, Mexico-City. Professor: Dr. Ajnesh Prasad. Authors: Gabriela Vargas, Roberto Perez, Mischa Sander.

Our group project relates to a range of topics in the field of Leadership and Organisational Behaviour, foremost Organisational Communication. There are different ways and forms to “get the job done” and to collaborate with team members and other stakeholders, with communication as a concept being at the heart of it. Today, we are living in times of change. Since the pandemic started, the majority of managers and workers are dealing with physical distancing, remote work, and newly introduced communication channels that in some cases have not been adopted well.

Other areas that our project touches are Teams and Groups, Organizational Change and Individuals and Organizations. In this context, leaders have to be emotionally mature when dealing with conflicts, especially when the contact is via online channels. Moreover, leaders need to communicate news and motivate their teams not only when things are on the right track, but also when there is a specific problem with the company, a project, or an individual. As a consequence, leaders have to develop emotional intelligence skills to deal with these types of conflicts and to solve it in the best possible way, to which our project aims to contribute.
